Hi White Heat,

Here I am writing again to the team with my utmost sincerity. I think recently some issues have been bothering me with regard to the team, not withstanding my personal problems. The first general problem is obviously - the attendance. In fact I do not have a problem with the attendance as long as there are valid reasons. However, poor attendance does significantly contribute to team morale and it shows during training and friendly games as well. Imagine you try to run set plays with 5-7 players when all of us (15 of us) should be familiar with? Is that training proper?

Another side of the problem does not necessary lies in the training itself but rather how we start to perceive each other. I believe you can understand that being at the training means you forfeit something you could have done. But why not put it this way: those who are making that kind of sacrifice will start to feel their efforts, be it consciously or sub-consciously, not reciprocated. This will subtly influence the level of morale and consequently the team performance. It is undeniable that priorities shift as we grow older. I believe every reason given for the absence from training and friendly games. My purpose here is whether you give a thought for those who is willing to arrange the time such that going training is possible and forfeiting priorities which may, in many cases, seen by others as more imperative.

Besides attendance, I feel that another weakness of our team has started to creep back, albeit subtly. This issue actually affects and bothers me the most. As we look at the team spirit and morale, we can hardly deny we are not very driven towards having a successful season here. And from the perspective of team building, we are hardly near our true potential, never in our lives since we have been playing together. Not in Seng Kang Cup. Not in Men’s qualifying. Not in division 2. My request to the team is to take a step back here and look at White Heat in the bigger picture. What is the reason for and the purpose from the time White Heat is formed? Are we grouped together just to play basketball or are we playing together because we want to play basketball with that group of friends whom you trust and probably grow old together?

The latter is my vision.

Is that your vision too? Is that the reason for and the purpose of Team White Heat? You probably already have the answer.

Now, let’s us take a look at our situation. There is no doubt we have moved into adulthood which holds beliefs and values we all so prided about. Nothing’s bad about that. In fact, those are what governed our lives and making them worthwhile. Yet, sometimes, we may fail to understand that as we grow older, we become more senile (stubborn). That is being too full or conceited of our ideas and principles, and I am probably guilty of that.
How often do we take teammates’ criticism constructively? How often do we encourage each other, especially nowadays (as compared to the past)? How often do we put the team and teammates before ourselves? How often do we bail our teammates out or allow him to suffer the consequences of his mistakes? How often do we play the game for ourselves and not for each other?

I want to take this chance to apologize to anyone whom I have offended and to everyone where I am guilty of the earlier circumstances. I have not felt great lately playing with the team and I am trying to articulate what I am feeling and have observed to everyone. Being engulf in groupthink is not something desirable for the team. This is why I am trying to solicit for everyone’s thoughts and feelings here.

Let’s not reach the point where the team will lose its purpose for that White Heat is born. Let’s put trust in our teammates and give encouragement. Let’s take criticism positively. Let’s discuss. Let’s bail each other out and yet not to be easy with ourselves at the same time. Let’s play the game for each other. Let’s beat the hell outta opponents. Let’s win,

and let us win together as a team.

I believe we have yet reached our potential, and that is good –

we are just gonna get better.

Choo has a fracture on his right hand between the third and fourth finger, while Liao has a dislocation on his middle finger.

Choo will be out for at least 4-6 weeks while Liao will be out for 3-5 weeks.

Will the heat be signing new guards as a replacement before the trade deadline?

In University, everyone suppose to clear certain amount of credits to graduate.
the credits is split into many different type... Core Credits, Unrestricted Electives, and Prescribe Electives...

So... Kenny Liao suppose to take 1 UE, and 2 PE.... but he ke kiang... he tot take 3 UE.... so.... in the final semester... he took his remaining 2 "UE" and tot he can graduate... Luckily the office call him and ask him he wanna take special semester izzit. then he realise his mistake!!!!

NOW!!!!! he have to wait for slots to see if he can drop the 2 UE and take another 2 PE if there's slot....

it was a devastating lost to SAS. I shall not review the score as it's to embarrassing to even think about it. The were bigger, stronger, and they crash the board everytime a shot was taken. Even if we lost the match, we must take something from them. and yesterday we took the importance of box out. and also the irritation of crashing the board for the REBOUND.

It have been very cruel to us to lose a match by so much. eventhough it's just a friendly, we know where we stand. eventhough many of our centers did not come. but if out center did come, will we play better? but maybe that's shouldn't be an excuse. we play with what we have.

if we dun start working hard now, we may end up regretting not working harder then. everyone had that feeling before and understand how it feels. Basketball it's a very cruel game. once we slack, the game know. and the game oni reward those whom have work hard.

we can choose to forgive and forget after a match, or we can regret and revenage. after all the loses in keat hong cup... it's time to pay back...

A record high of 22 pple came. but with high quatity come great responsibility...

4 cars, 2 bike... went around bishan to look for an empty court for 1 hour as catholic high indoor is occupied, and outdoor is too hot... sheltered court competition level is too low.. and they doesn't seems to wanna play with us... so after rounding for 1 hour, and surveying 3 courts, we went back where we started from.. catholic high school outdoor court... until about 1230pm, the indoor is vacant, we use it to fufill our dream of small vs big, which was suppose to be the week before theme... till about 3pm, then we call it a day.....

Aw Si Kuan - let's break the story down...

Aw Si Kuan was watching IVP match with me.. so i asked him if he coming down to play ball this saturday. So he told me he had a friendly match. hall 2 against shears hall of NUS. He showed me SMS of the friendly, the time of the friendly, the venue everything, and successfully convince me that he have a friendly that day in the morning.

Awhile later... Kevin Loy came. Kevin loy also play for Hall 2 basketball. but JUST FOR FUN... i asked him if he is coming down to play ball with us this Saturday.. and to my surprise... he said....

"Ya, i going down"

I looked at Aw Si Kuan, and Aw Si Kuan looked at me giving me the "oh shit!" face.

it was a heart warming party where everyone was helping out the bbq, and ASK on the pasta. peeling prawn and garlic. cooking pasta, barbequeing mutton that tasted like beef ( some tasted it like beef, some insist it's mutton because they cannot eat beef, so... we just let the mystery live on..) some were just waiting to be serve and catching up. after the food was almost finish. tension started rising. gossiping start to fly........

The exam are coming to an end. the latest date for everyone to end their exam should be on the 8th december. for what i've know as till date.. Hui jie have ended. so we should start our quest to division 1 title soon.

The division 1 will be starting around april period. from now there are still about 5 months. but how will the 5 months be like?

December.
NTU and NUS will be having IVP training as IVP will be starting on early january. so most of the time they will be training in their respective school. to those non ivp player, some of us will be going holidays, enjoying our post exam. which lead to not many practises in december. But we must need a minimum criteria for the december period. ONCE a week. I say again ONCE a week. which is about 3 times this december. we shall meet up to play ball.. i say again.. PLAY ball... not tough training. just to get the feel of the ball.. so every saturday at the bishan sheltered court. there are some middle age man playing there, we can just join in and play some full court, instead of the few of us playing 4 on 4, 3 on 3. that's requirement for december.

January.
School Begins.... Start of IVP.... IVP may last 1 month... so we shall as usual meet up weekly for basketball session. but hopefully at least 2-3 times a week.. saturday as usual.. there are more white heat pple in NTU. so we can just go down SRC to play.. johnny, eugene (if possible) KEVIN! Xiang Xin (Try ur best) si kuan should be in china... and whoever wanna play just msg me.. i'll be on the call.

Febuary.
IVP End... so we should start our training proper. 2 training per week. We should have at least one competition in between to see where we are. this is a good month.(TBC)

March
Preseason games. Friendly. shape should be there. (14 training a week. 2xs a day) (TBC)

April
Playoff... where brotherhood, where fouls, where freethrow, where hussle, where jumpball, where fight, where Championship happens.

looking at cleveland this season, the team have added alot of talent around LBJ, i.e Shaq, anothony carter, j moon. but is this enough to win a cchampionship? Comparing the knicks squad and LBJless Cleveland Squad, they are more or less the same. cleveland will not survive without James. this show that cleveland does not have depth. Lakers can survive without kobe, gasol, odom, or bynum. this is how much depth they have..

so who will be sidekicking James in Knicks? I predict.. Chris Bosh will go to knicks with him. just a prediction... bosh end his contract nex season. free to go anywhere, why not go to knicks with lebron james?

New York is a Happening City.. everyone is welcoming lebron to the City. with so much enthusiam welcoming someone to a well known city in US, why won;t he be going there? Cleveland.. centers will usually be more physical then other players, but how to be physical smart?? bumping ur opponent a few times to test how he wanna guard u is a good way to test the defence. usually we dun do that bcoz we tend to avoid a physical games. i think a few bump is still okie ba? let's try it out during training.

There's a Rucker Park in America, there's a Rucker park in Singapore! 8 people from White Heat went down to block 112 bishan sheltered court for a healthy game of basketball.

Even though there were oni 8 of us, there were some middle age guys playing games of full court. their games was very professional with freethrows and referee!! it's a thrifty way of not booking at CCAB. the best things about it is that there's R&B all day.. a Portable Radio was there with Hitz from beyonce, wonder girls, JayZ, Linkin Park, etc etc...

Pole Dancer were around the courts ranging from 18-25 years old.. figure was hot like chilli.. with free flow of beer for every game u play.. the more u drink, the bigger the ring... SHY going to the girls? they will come to u... it's their job... they are paid by the middle age guys to entertain everyone there... (Believe it or not)

the video below teaches forwards like eugene, xinru, zhang hao, johnny, zachy,kenny, DEREK, darren (i doubt u got time to read the blog. "Busy"), QUAN JU YOU ARE NOT A FORWARD!!! to move around without the ball. Center wiill have a separate video posted in the near futureif u had pay attention to the video, i like the point of not staying at a point for more then 2 seconds. Keep moving so that defender is having a hard time guarding u.

It's easier to drive past a defender when he is not in the defending stance. eg. if xin ru is already is his stance. odds of driving past him is -100%. shoot over him? 50%? so running ard screens is the best way to create space between u and him.

Next i'll pass on to richard hamilton!....

just to add some interest to the blog. Since everyone so busy, I, the mysterious bloger, will maintain the blog. adding videos and on going of our team mates. dun ask me who i am as you may already know who i am. dun ask what's my name, because it's not important.

Recently the chong ghee dinner had just added, and the attendance rate was tremendously great. totaly of 28 people from the team attended the dinner.

in the recent NTU street challange, Zhang hao, Johnny, quan qu, trina, berniece, jlow, and NTU's derek joined the handball competition and got a 2nd place. a total of 1,387 teams join this year ntu street challange. Coach Choo Xin Ru said:" it was a good effort from them as i did not expect them to do so well. i should get all the credits" With a team name "zhang hao and frens" a team name after "sorry zhang hao". everyone was asking who is zhang hao... johnny james johnathon jordan was named the MVP rumours were spreading bcoz the jury are girls. Johnny,"there's no I in a team, but there's I in a wIn! I'm the MVP". The prizes for MVP is Cash Price of $1000. "i''ll treat white heat to "The Line" buffet once more!.

Finally, the much talked about is here. Come April 9, a day after Xing Ru’s birthday, we will set to conquer one last thing of our season: THE LINE. Heading the conquest will be our KING Albert, assisted by his followers: Advisor Derek and Princess Quan Ju.
Nonetheless, there are people worth mentioning, such as the likes of Gallantry Zachy, to challenge the King in completing THE LINE’s spread. Not to forget, our Coach Johnson Lim, the precedent buffet champion of 1990s, will participate in this coveted conquest. WAGs are invited to grace the event too. Warning: don’t eat like the guys.

A point to note is we are utilizing the $1000 cash reward from the last won battle. However, coach says he will be treating the remainder of $900 odd as he has promised. It did sound good but I do feel not entirely comfortable. My suggestion will be to prepare around $20 to reimburse ourselves. (Spilt the bill with coach) Having that said, we may not get to pay in the end still. But it will be nice since THE LINE is really a luxurious treat.

Hi all, after a long dormant period of 3 months, i think its time to get off our asses and prepare for Division 2. For those who played in the SAS game, it is obvious that we are out of shape as a team and have to get our touches and 'Mo Qi' back ASAP. We have around 1.5 months to prepare only, Division 2 will start around 16 March according to coach.

Trainings are currently fixed on Monday(630pm), Wednesday(630pm), Saturday(930am). Training on 2/2/09 is cancelled due to low attendence, wednesday hope to have at least 10.

Hey heats,
It was a good game on Wednesday. The spirit was good, the encouragement was fantastic. Let’s keep this momentum on. On the other hand, we need to microscope our weaknesses. I believe this way is the fastest way to improve and at the same time build on our current form.

3 points to highlight:
1. Individual defense: what was noted yesterday is that guards are helping the depth too much that we gave up a lot of open looks.

a. Rectification: adjust your help distance according to your opponent strength. i.e. if he is a shooter, don’t leave him.

b. Jump in early and square your defense to your opponent when the ball is kicked out for a shot. i.e. to recover your man defense before he gets the ball.

c. Shutter steps to challenge the shot

2. Recognizing the defense: it was noted that no one reads the change in defense when they are playing strong on big AL.

a. We have to read the defense and react to it. If they play strong defense on our guy, someone on our team must be opened up. Derek did great yesterday but it just wasn’t his day.

3. Denying the ball. Hardly there is a simultaneous effort. It was only Zachy doing the pressure on dead ball but no one was cutting off the passing lane.

a. Pressure the opponent when he picks up his dribble.

b. Everyone else should have their hands in the passing lane.

c. That should prevent him from both getting the ball and doing an easy back door.

d. Darren is super guilty for not pressuring the passer. I understand that the floor has friction. Then we got to put a little bit more effort to move. Just kidding!

e. It could have been more than 100 if we have done better in this department.

All in all, it was good improvement but far from our best. There is a lot of potential as everyone can see. We only need another game to be top of the group but we got to win all in this competition. Am I right? For those who know that they are not in the best form, please do something about it. Run, skip, gym. Whatever. We have more than a week before next round. Show the opponents we are determined to win it. Your improvement is encouragement to rest of us.

On a personal note, I have always wanted to write a mail to tell everyone about my absence. I think it is appropriate to write now because I don’t think I should affect the morale in any ways before the tournament starts. I think the team is doing great right now and please keep this up. My injury will sideline me for a few months at least. It took me 6 full months to pick up and just one knock to negate all the efforts.

Unless I have an operation, there is no such thing as full recovery. The chances of the shoulder popping out again are as high as 90% without one.

It did come to a point of quitting basketball altogether because I am keeping my family worried and spending lots of money on medical fees. On the other hand, I can’t because I have a group of friends whom I want to play basketball with. Worst still, I can’t play with them right now. I just can’t give up when I have waited for two years (and still waiting) and when I haven’t played with them in this tournament. The feeling is really terrible.

So for those who are fighting fit now, please cherish this chance because god knows what will happen tomorrow. You don’t get a team like this anywhere else. You don’t get friends to play the same passion anywhere else. So please cherish it. I think the only comfort I can get now is for the team to win the tournament. Stay focus, guys.

I also would like to take this chance to thank Xing Ru for being there for me whenever I get injured. This may sound gay, but I deeply appreciate that. Thanks a lot. Not just Xing Ru, thank you everyone for showing your care and concern for me. Thanks Zachy and Xing Ru again for quickly stepping in to assume the role for coordinating and as leaders of the team. You guys are doing a great job and even a better job than me.

So I shall end my long personal note here. Continue to stay focus and play hard for the team. I believe our team has what it takes to win this tournament. Please take good care of yourself and rest well. See you guys on Friday.

I felt it will be a good idea to comment on training after each session. It will be a platform for reflection and at the same time updating those who cannot make it for training on that day.

Regarding today's training, I personally felt that what is lacking most is cohesion when we play. zhanghao commented that our cohesion shows in spurs of moment but never sustainable. This, I felt, may be attributed to personal concept and lack of understanding FOR EACH OTHER. It has been difficult for coach to adjust and align our concepts when he needs to look after two teams of players. However, we can achieve this through our own by communicating more with each other especially when we are all adults. Sometimes, it is about changing others, but sometimes it is also about changing ourselves. In a team, it is about training ourselves into better players and helping your teammates to realize their potential.

Progress will be made faster with people communicating more. Analyzing and accepting a comment makes a player better. If we are able to get these mentalities right, I think soon enough results will show.

About today's game, several occasions had shown that we lacked the composure to finish the game. How about looking the game in another prospective? it is not about who is getting the 21 points first but rather, in a real match-up, it is about the offense and defense. Let’s not get too heat up about getting the 21 points. let's start from getting our offense moving, creating open look, screen for our teammates, hitting pin point passes etc. on the defense, helping out the teammates through communicating, understanding each other's defensive style through active communication and reaction. Defense is not just about each and everyone doing their job. Team defense is about everyone doing just one job.

What we want to simulate is a competitive game environment and not just about getting the 21 points. If we play to our game, offense and defense, we will get there faster before we know the game has ended. And that is really about enjoying the game, and enjoying it together.

Training this coming saturday @ 9am. Please try your best to come for the subsequent training as the team needs to peak for Men's Open at the right time. Friendlies will be played in the coming weeks, probabaly when Quanju comes back from Thailand. Our first friendly game opponent may be Cagers. But yet to confirm. Right now, we can't afford to miss any training unless you want a repeat of the Men's Open 2006 or the Chong Pang Cup 2008. We are a team of adults except for johnny who will also be turning 21st pretty soon. I believe we know what we want and what to prioritize. This is not meant to be a reprimand but a reminder that there is something we have yet to achieve together. So let us put some serious efforts for our common goal.

First SP session

Of coz i was excited to play this SP game for the first time. Kept thinking how or what my SP would be like. Damn scared that she will be a He lor.. First session was not that bad becasue we got to talk and chat about our backgrounds and what course etc... then becasue of a game i was to feed her a pockey and we must smile and post for a picture otherwise they won't let us off.

I took down my blindfold to take a small peep at who my SP was. I got the shock of my life!! I was so aghasted that i immediately put my blindfold back. SHE was a HE... her hair was as short as mine.. i was damn damn damn damn damn sianz lor.. I kept quiet but out of courtesty i said, " will you be at the relevation tomorrow night? If you are then see you." Actually I really hope that she don't turn up or even worse I try to escape SP night..
Because I only took a quick peep at her without my glasses or contact lens on I was unsure if SHE was a HE.. BUT my worst fear came thru when my OG met her OG on the way to supper at feng shan.. I remember her tee shirt pattern thus confirming that SHE was HIM...!!!!!!! I dare not look at her direct in the eyes but i guess she aready knew who i was ba.. I got bad nightmares that night... :(

Final Day ( Revealation night)

Holding on to the SP gift (which was prepared beforehand) my mind was like.. " WTF.. WHY????????" I really pray hard for her not to turn up and kept feeling moody before the revealation. My OG mates also felt sorry for me but kept encouraging me to just meet have dinner and zhao!!! The councellers gave me a picture of me and my SP taken on first session and i held it with a sianz sianz look.. Then they said told us to just go over and find our respective SP. Of coz I walk towards those girls thinking why I kana the SHEMALE??? Curses and swearing went through my mind as I dare not look up..

When we reached the girls I look up slightly for any short hair girl. TO MY UTTER SURPRISE there wasn't any girls with short hair.. This time I scanned in more details. Because I saw her during the day when we were playing games in sentosa then i thought die liao.. she onfirm will turn up tonight so i didn't know that she will miss the SP session even though I don't want her to turn up.. AFTER I CONFIRM she wasn't around, I was over-whemled with joy like winning a championship like that. YES YES YES SHE IS NOT AROUND. I couldn't care less about the other people even if there SP were chio.. As long as i don't see the SHEMALE i am damn happy liao..

What happen next was so just totally opposite of what I have been going through the past few hours knowing that my SP was a SHEMALE.I was actually pair up with this girl whose SP was also not around. She was more socialable ( than the SHEMALE) and because I was in such happy mood, I talk a lot ( maybe too much). But she ayia.. just 1000000x better than the previous SP lah.. We had dinner and sat down to chat lor.. We exchange background information and with the help of my OGL, I ask her for her contact no. What surprise me most was she even said, " do you want my msn add?" Of course any normal dude will say okay lah.. FIRST time sia...!!!
She ask, " Why are you so happy?". I took out the photograph which I took with the original SP and she said, " Which one is you ar??". Can you guys imagine. Even a girl ask who am I so u can imagine that in the picture, its actually seems like 2 guys taking picture lor..!!! damn er xin!!!!!!! Yuck!!!
And ya she understand why I was so happy liao. Too bad she is "amber light" ( a lot of guys wooing her) so think i confirm no chance de lah.. Hope to be just friends. =)

Well, thats is almost the entire story of my SP in sports camp 08. XR advised me not to put up the pic I took with the original SP so i think I better don't act hero.. anyway I am going to burn that photo..!!!!!!!!! Hope you guys have enjoyed reading. 5 Things you cannot do during sports camp...

1. You cannot purposely lose and go for forfeit knowing that the forfeit can take alot of advantage of girls (eat meat)

8. When diving in the pool to find mahjong. dun find 一筒 and throw at people.. you know who i'm talking about.. ya you!!!!! is you!!!! CXW!!

9. "Hey, i got lotion here, can i put it on for u??" they will definitely say NO... DUN ASK... JUST RUB!!!! YEAH....!!! I'll Bail you out!!!!

However, I urge everyone to be slightly patient with one another and at the same time patient with ourselves. Not every time our plays can work magically. However, it is the patience we need to produce to handle situation like this. Chong Chee’s seniors have been very worthy training partners and have provided us a lot of learning opportunities. We need to value these chances.
By patience I don’t mean to play it like slow motion or follow strictly to the set plays. By patience, I mean it is to observe, it is to understand, it is to spot your teammates and get them into scoring positions or opportunities. By patience, I mean to execute the right play against the defense. By patience, I mean to break away for fast-break at clear cut opportunity and reset the play if opponent’s defense has smothered the breakaway. By patience, I mean to understand ourselves ultimately by polishing our strength and work on our weakness. A famous player once said to me,” your team doesn’t have the size. But it doesn’t matter. Becoming A Better Player

How to become a better player? i believe that in our team, all of us were once stars back in the good old days. Some were Singapore Combined Schools, Some were 'A' divison MVP, some were secondary schools star player. but why are we struggling now? why can't we play the standard we use to play? Choose a catagory you are in and think about it. this will work for your personnal life.

Reason 1: we are living in our past... you shine during "B" boys. then you move to "A" boys. you din play tt well, but people still recognize you down the street. then you move to BAS open, divison 2, divison 1. and you ain't scoring anymore, you can't guard the same guy whom you trash when you were 16. why?? Because you only maintain in you "b" boys standard. Everytime you reach a new league, you got to start everything from 0. In America, some players was famous in their high school days, but why don't they have the same result in the NBA? because the live in the past and unwilling to put their pride down. this does to reason number 2.

Reason 2: Arrogant! You dun wanna admit that you are no longer the person you once are. you refuse to do basic training you were doing when you were 14-15 as you believe "i'm good". you kept on thinking that no one is better then you. sky is the limit. if you think you are so good. you lost the motivation to improve. Respect your opponent and they will respect you.

Reason 3: Goal is the key to success. if there are no exam, no body will study. if there are no competition, then no one will wanna train. we all train for a goal. what's your goal? to win? to not let anyone step over you?

Reason 4: The Environment and your friends will help you become a better player. you can't reach a goal by yourself. sometimes you need someone to push you. and there's where team mates are around. we will push each other through the tough training and from there we will reach a new height and a stronger team

analysis of the NBA final

Boston celtics had traded for the Big 3(Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett) and ever since they had been playing well thru the season being the top team in the league. But the media have been focusing on the Western side and stating that Eastern Conference is a weaker team. most stated that a Western team will win the NBA title. During the Playoff, boston was unable to win an away game and had to play a game 7 with a younger Alanta Hawks and a one-man team Cleveland. most felt that maybe boston isn't that good after all. Ray allen wasn't making shot despite being a shooter. his form wasn't any where near what he should be. but in the Conference final against the Piston, he found his form and starting scoring and helping boston to win Away game and took the series with a 4-2 victory.

Now in the NBA final. they played well and maintain their form, conquering the Lakers with a 3-1 lead. then even overcome a 24 points deficit. They look like a more promising team.

Lakers had a rough road throught out the season. Kobe Bryant wanted to be traded off as the management wasn't giving him what he want. They are not giving him a supporting cast. at the start of the season, we saw that the bench and the rest of the player step up and score for the team. Kobe merely assist his team mate by drawing the defence. but no one expected them to be a title contender. then andrew bynum begin to shine for the lakers being one of the dominating center in the NBA. then bynum sprain his knee and out for the seaon. things look bad for the lakers, by they got pal gasol (once nike player of the year.) he quickly linked with the lakers and they became a contender. lamar odom not wanting to be the 2nd scorer now became a 3rd scorer which make him better. he doesn't like to be in the limelight. slowly, they lead the western conference and be the top team in the west. and Kobe got his first ever season MVP.

in the playoff, the swept the denver, a 4-2 win over utah, and a 4-1 win over defending champ spurs. they play convincingly thru the playoff.

but in the final, the were unable to win at boston, and lost in game 4 despite a 24 point lead.

How team White Heat was formed?

ayia.. since there's nobody here to spam with me on the tagboard so I will write a short story on how our team was formed. The story is purely based on what i know so please forgive me in advance for any discrepancy in the story.

Year 2005, I was in jc2 and most of them were year 1 soldiers in NS. It was end august that Wei Chao first jio the ajc people like me johnny,vincent,gary,jinglun Jonathon,weiqiang and sikuan for a basketball session at chengsan cc. It slowly became a weekly activity however we see less and less people coming so weichao decided to jio Zeyan to play with us. Zeyan in turn jio zhanghao and eugene since they were in the same camp at that time.

I still remember the first time playing with zeyan,zhanghao and eugene 1 and a half year after our last game in combine school.. Eugene then started to jio huijie,Ivan and bingxing to play with us. We basically play at either yewtee cc or chengsan cc on weekends because thats the time when they can book out..I think Xingru also very long never touch ball liao so i also jio him down to chengsan cc to play too..

There was one time when nobody bring the ball and quanju had to go sportslink in amk to buy a new basketball just for that day.HAHA I think we meet up so regularly on weekends for basketball sessions that its feels funny if we did not play on a weekend..

In 2006, eugene jio us to go ccab to play. (AND THATS WHERE KENNY ALWAYS SEEMS TO COME TO PLAY ALSO BECUASE HE IN OCS MAH SO HE ALSO NEVER REALLY PLAY MUCH WITH US UNTIL HE COMMISSION AROUND DEC 2006 LIKE THAT) Then we of coz said ok lah since it was indoor and we can play from 2pm to 6pm with their experienced players like de mao who burn me until i got nothing left. It was around April when someone ( I not sure who) suggests that we form a team to play for BAS Open. The initial suggested team name was "Zeyan and friends" since zeyan was like the connecting link between all of us to come down and play.But the name sound too stupid thats why never use. HAHAHAHA. In the end we decide to use White Heat as "yan" in chinese sounds like zeyan also.. hahaha It was a huge challenge because we have to pay for our own jerseys and competition fees. Worst of all we dun have a coach. Huijie then ask coach jian hao if he was willing to coach us and he agreed. Coach also never have much time to train or know us. So he put players in based on performance that day.

The BAS Open was in sep and johnny was in sispec so he didn't join us.I just got posted to unit therefore I was still able to join them. The rest of them were year2 soldiers going to ORD so it wasn't much of a problem to them either.

We started the BAS open very smoothly, winning and topping our first round group. However in the 2nd round. On the game against G net, zhanghao,zeyan,eugene and jonathon cannot come because they got atec and we lost the game by 23points. It was the worst game we ever played. We won minyi and faced a crucial game against hongkah where we need to beat them by 21points to qulify for the next round.

We started the game damn well. Played aggressive defence and taking a 15 to 3 lead in 1st quarter. We never allow our lead to go below 10 points througout the game. In the final minute weiqiang was foul and he made both free throw to give us a 22 points lead. I thought we have won it but duno which hongkah player in the last 5 to 6 secs still go for a lay up and made it to cut our lead to 20points. We were booted out of the BAS Open but we formed one on the strongest team in years to come...

"KENNY，转过来。。。”i was awaken by my coach voice after the xiong training yesterday night. this shows tt i have been very serious during training. very focus. eventhough i can't rem why coach ask me to turn around. then ze yan called me in the morning 930 to go sentosa... i was relactant to go as i wanted today to be my off day and just relac at home, roll around, but i DON'T WANNA DISAPPOINT LEE ZE YAN!! so i agreed!

when everyone (Bing Xin, Quan Ju, Ze yan, and me) gather at the tram. it was about 1200 noon already. At the tram, we saw alot of YOUNG pple. really young pple (13,14,15??) while we are alr at our 20s. 加起来都几百岁了... so along the beach, we saw quite alot of hot girls (at the beach, all look older le.) so we kept walking for a good place to camp. we walk and walk and walk. as we walk, the standard drop... finally we reach the end of Siloso and i think you all should noe the standard. the END of siloso....

but our hope was not totally gone, there were still 2 "hope" about 20 metres from our base. one pony tail and one yellow hair band. then ze yan suggest the idea of knowing them. pick up line is ...

person 1 :"hey, you all wanna eat mua chee??"
Girls:"okie!"
Person 2: *start rolling on the sand like a mua chee"

hahha. i tot it was a corny cheesy idea. so i tot it will be a funny scene, then i dunno why i agreed to be the mua chee. then after processing thru my mind, i think it's damn paiseh la! so i back out totally..

kenny:"不要啦！！！我不要做偕星。我要做偶像！”

then they kept convincing me to be 偕星。 after much persuaion.. they decided to let me be 偶像。then wan me to be person 1, while they be mua chee. then i again din process thru my mind i agreed again! so while walking to the girls, BING XIN and ZE YAN was walking infront, i had this thought "die... i have to start the conversation... how to start.." so i back out again.. i started crawling on the sand

kenny:"不要啦！！！我ham ji，我没种，我nuo zhong(i dunno wat izzit, i use it bcoz ze yan use it..)

then they started scolding teasing suaning bla bla bla me....

then hui jie came after his physio, so ze yan told him the plan, and how i back out. so hui jie suggested playing a match of volleyball, loser will be mua chee. i agreed and indeed we lost. so me and ze yan became mua chee. and bing xing went up them..

bing xing:"hi, erm.. you all wanna eat mua chee??"
i tot they will say dun wan... but...............
girl 1 (w yellow hairband):" okie lorz!"
*kenny and zeyan start rolling on the ground*
damn paiseh la.. so... trying to make myself less paiseh...
kenny:"okie, mua chee done, which part you wanna eat??"
girl 1:" no thanks!"
kenny :*more paiseh*.......

hahah actually not tt paiseh la.. still all rite la. then we left for 2nd round of volleyball. loser will bring 2 bottle of water to them. now is me and quan ju, hui jie and ze yan.. i din wanna lose, ze yan din wanna win.. so ze yan and hui jie lose and ze yan happily pass the water to them!

zeyan:" hi baby, this is 2 bottle from all of us la, i lost the game, so came over lorz. "(it was something like tt)
girl 1:" oh I see i see!"
zeyan:"ya, oh my name is Ze yan"

ze yan then came back and we just relax at our base. then someone suggested to ask them for meal! and again ze yan is the MAN since he had alr broke the ice! not now when? not you who!!! affinity oni come once in a life time! and ze yan went over. talk for awhile and came back...

ze yan:" pack up! outside toilet in 15 mins"

everyone started packing and bath super fast. it was like army mission like tt.

so while waiting outside jane came out first. (she look different.) erm.... just different) maybe it's the yellow hairband. me and quan ju not sure.

Kenny:" are you Jane??"
jane:" ya, oh, you all are the....."
Kenny:" ya!"

i think she wanna say the mua chee gang. but i dun wanna be remeber as mua chee man!

so after everyone had gathered, they suggested to go food republic! so we went there.. along the way, it was abit arkward. abit la! generation gap? maybe. they are 17 from 1st toa payoh sec. i'm 23, rest 22. 5-6 olders. well... then we went food republic.

we we started breaking the ice.. like wat ze yan will say..... ze yan and bing xin broke the ice.. i melt the ice.. so i'm fan jian. hahaha, they insist la. i'm just trying to keep the atmosphere warm. hahah i insist.

so after the meal, we went to the pet shop at vivo. ze yan said i was talkative at the pet shop, ask me be mua chee then quiet nv talk. my defence is i more confortable at the pet shop ma, so will talk more lorz. so there was the scenario at the pet shop.

bcoz while watching the pet grooming, wan ting said she like toy poodle. then happen that at the dog for sale area, there was a cute toy poodle. then wan ting was quite far. so i merely said :" wan ting! Come" want her to come see the toy poodle. then ze yan kept teasing this "Come" thing.

so after the pet shop, they left, and that's the end!!!!

then xin ru, kai hui, zhang hao, and derek came to vivo and we ate ma la huo guo. and ze yan and quan ju kept teasing i nuo zhong, and "Come"
